Welcome to an exploration of beautiful artworks and inspiring stories by Lithuanian descendants in Uruguay. They tell a story of how very distant countries can have so much in common.
They show how Lithuanians contributed to their new homelands in Latin America, and how their new homelands nurtured their very many talents. These are professional artists in textile, sculpture or painting, but they can also build a house, help people with disabilities become more independent, or code software programmes.
Their artworks are not only a reflection of artistic and cultural diversity in Latin America, but also very clear evidence that migration, and diasporas created by it, can unite even the most distant countries and enrich them with new vitality. It is also a personal journey in search of oneself and of creative expressions.
And this journey never ends, it is always somewhere in-between the ports.
